Caramel Amaretto Apple Pie

  • ½ c brown sugar
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • ¼ t nutmeg
  • 2 T flour
  • 6 cooking apples, peeled and slice
  • ⅓ c slivered dried apricots
  • ⅓ c slivered almonds
  • ¼ c amaretto liqueur
  • pastry for double pie crust

Combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss in apple slices, almonds, apricots and liqueur.

Place one pastry crust into pie plate. Fill with apple mixture. Top with second crust.

Cut several slits in top crust.

Bake at 425 F for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temp to 350 and bake about 40 minutes longer or until apples are tender.
