Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cookies.
Melt chocolate squares with butter over low heat. Stir until smooth; cool to room temperature. Beat eggs with sugar on high speed in mixer until ribbons are formed when beaters are lifted, about 5 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by heaping tablespoon onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 325 for 10 minutes. Cool for 2 min then transfer cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
Note: A double boiler or bowl set in a pot of simmering water works well for melting the chocolate.
