The Best Granola Recipe

Less sugar …. and great taste!

  • 2 kg regular oat flakes
  • 1 kg combination of 9 grain, porridge oats, barley, spelt … or other flakes (whatever you have on hand)
  • ½ c seseme seeds (optional)
  • ½ c sunflower seeds (optional)
  • 2½ c coarsly chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans)
  • 1½ t salt
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1½ c coconut flakes
  • 3 c brown sugar or 1½ cup honey (more or less to taste)
  • 3 c olive oil or combination coconut oil and olive oil

  • 2 c or more chopped dried fruit including raisons, apricots, dates, cranberries ….

Mix all ingredients except dried fruit together in a large bowl. Spread some of the mixture onto a broiler pan about ½ inch thick. Bake at 350 for 8 - 10 minutes or until slightly browned. Remove from oven to a large bowl, immediately adding chopped dried fruit. Mix well. Repeat until all granola is baked. Store up to 2 months in airtight containers.
